Invites you to our joint Lucia celebration on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at 3.00 PM at Gates Mills Community House, 1460 Chagrin River Road, Gates Mills OH 44040.
Website Registration
Please register no later than December 1 via the Swedish Cultural Society (SCS) website, https://scs-cleveland.com/. Since most of you are not members of SCS the procedure for registering is rather complex. Here is what you need to do.
1. Under the pull-down menu at the far right click on 'Member Login.' This will open a page which has log-in information. At the bottom of the page there is a 'Join us' menu.
2. Click on 'Join us' and then, on the page that opens, click on 'Register here.' Fill out the registration form choosing a password. Submit form. Another page will open saying that your registration will be approved by the webmaster in less than 24 hours. Wait for approval.
3. When you get the email that approves your registration, reenter the website and this time sign in with your email and password.
Reservations / Food
When signed in go back to member login pull down menu and click on 'Volunteer sign-up.' When that menu shows up:
a. first register for Lucia attendance following the instructions on the website for the number of adults and children.
b. then go back to the initial sign-up page to sign up for what you will bring for food. Please chose an item that still has openings.
All serving dishes and utensils should be marked with your name or in some way so that they can be identified. All food items should be ready to serve. Even if you bring a disposable dish, please see that the contents are properly disposed of after the meal.
If any of you cannot figure out how to sign in to the website and register for both people and food, send me an email at info.nm130@gmail.com and I will register for you. I will first ask tell you to provide names for all in party and what food items you are bringing before I can register you.
The event is limited to 100 participants, so please register as early as possible, and no later than December 1, as after that registration of non-members will then be allowed. First come, first served.
Cost
The admission fee for Vasa members is $15.00 for adults. Non-members pay $20.00; $5.00 for all children 10 and under. Children participating in the Lucia pageant are free of charge. Bring money to event. Checks preferred, for the amount for your party, made out to Nobel-Monitor Lodge #130.

3:00 pm Open mixer – Welcome Glögg. Children’s movies in the basement
4:00 pm Start enjoying the delicious 'Julbord'
5:00 pm Lucia procession and program
5:20 pm Our Lucia choir (Vasa Voices) followed by allsång (unison singing)
6:00 pm ‘Tomten’ a poem by Victor Rydberg narrated by Bo Carlsson
6:15 pm Visit by our own Tomten (Santa)
6:30 pm Efterrätt (dessert)
